I had to share two videos that were sent to me by a fan.  They were just so well done I couldn’t resist.  In one, Minmei, Lisa Hayes and Rick have my school time crush Davy singing in the background.  The other is a photo montage of Minmei and Marlene.  How totally cool!

I seem to have fans all over the world with a large number in South America.  One of my fans, Matias, sent me a video he made singing To Be In Love, from Robotech.  He did such a great job I wanted to post it.

This morning I’m kind of bleary eyed because I definitely stayed up past my bedtime.  Last night we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Robotech at the Air Tel Hotel in Van Nuys, California, and almost all the remaining voice actors attended.  Greg Snegoff even flew in from Italy.

Fans came from all over, one as far as Tokyo.  There were probably about 100 people in attendance for an elegant dinner and show.

Actors and others attending included: Robert Axelrod, Eddie Frierson, Michael Bradley, Barbara Goodson, Melora Harte, Melanie McQueen, Tony Oliver, Michael McConnohie, Michael Sorich, Melodee Spevack, Paul St. Peter, Alexandra Kenworthy, Richard Epcar, Steve Kramer, Greg Finley, Wendee Lee, Yuri Lowenthal, David Millburn, Ellyn Stern, Dan Woren, Mike Reynolds, Frank Catalano, Svea Macek, Thomas White (composer), Steve Wittmack (composer) and, of course, myself, Rebecca Forstadt.  Michael Bradley’s band, Ghost and the Time Machine entertained and saved me from signing We Will Win!

We had a champagne toast.  Tom Bateman and his twin brother Dennis, headed up the program along with many volunteers.  They created a show reel that featured credits for all the actors.  We loved it!

I showed up for a symposium earlier in the day and answered questions.  I think the most touching thing was how Robotech had changed the lives of many of the participants.  Some had experienced difficult childhoods and Robotech was an escape from harsh reality.

I want to thank the many legions of fans all over the world that have kept Robotech alive all these years.

Of course, the 25th celebration included the loss of several who contributed to the show.  Carl Macek, producer, Ulpio Minucci and Arlon Ober, composer and lyrics, Bob Barron, writer, director and all round good guy, and Billy Capizzi, voice actor.  We will miss them all terribly.  Svea Macek was on hand to witness a moving tribute to Carl.

I wanted to thank Dante for sending me this photo of Mari Ijima and myself at Sacanime 2010. We had a great time there.  Mari did a concert that the fans thoroughly enjoyed.  We did a panel together and sat together for autographs.  For those who are not aware, we both played the character of Minmei.  Mari in Macross and myself in Robotech.  This was the first time we had ever appeared in an anime convention together.

I thought Sacramento was very cool and enjoyed exploring Old Sac, which is a perfectly restored Gold Rush Town.  They were having Gold Rush Days there, during Labor Day Weekend,  and everyone was dressed up in costumes.  (no not cosplay costumes. . .  LOL)

The hotel that the convention was held in was very cool.  It had a huge man made lake that you could look out and see from the autograph tables.  A couple fans had to be rescued because they apparently jumped in.

The actors stayed downtown, near the capital.  Sacramento is so easy to walk around.  Ali Hillis, Liam O’Brien, their families and myself went out to dinner one night at a great Italian restaurant.  Wish I could remember the name.  I also went to Cosmos, a very chic restaurant near the capital.

RT25 – The Celebration is a party to honor the numerous voice actors and production staff behind the making of America's groundbreaking 80's animated series, ROBOTECH. The celebration is being joined by many ROBOTECH fans who have kept their beloved series in their hearts for the past twenty five years.

The star-studded event will include over two dozen of the anime industry's amazing American talents, such as voice actors, directors, artists, writers, and producers. The list of special guests include long time industry professional, Tony Oliver (voice of Rick Hunter), famous “kid voice actor” Rebecca Forstadt (aka Reba West, voice of Lynn Minmei), mutli-talented voice actor and director, Richard Epcar (voice of Ben Dixon, Lunk, and Vince Grant), Yuri Lowenthal (voice of Marcus Rush), and even a live concert performance by singer/songwriter, Michael Bradley (singing voice of Yellow Dancer/Lancer).
